I heard a guy last night lapping on an old Gibson EH? tuned to and open D
D A D F# A D. Nice sound for the blues he and the harp player were working out.
Is there a site or does anyone out there have a string guage chart for different tunings?
Would you please share them with me?
Thanks

George

On my 25" scale lap steels I use the Jagwire open-E string sets that's sold here at the forum, the longer scale makes up for the lighter gauge.
Asher guitars are also offering sets for open-D.

Ot you can simply use the string gauge chart Ron provided, and order single strings from Just Strings or somewhere else..

For a "D" tuning on a 25" scale I like to use D'Addario EJ18 Phosphor Bronze .14-.59

They also work well in a "C" tuning 151513.
