Johnny and I would like to thank John and "Little John" Buffington and Don Compston for again letting us be a part of the Tulsa show this year. We had a wonderful time, as always. The weekend just goes by too quick though. Dicky Overby completely knocked me out this year, and if everyone will allow me to brag on my husband: I've never heard Johnny play the way he did this weekend. He played about as perfect as you can get. It was a very emotional time for him as he loved Jeff Newman very much, and wasn't able to attend his funeral. So I guess it doesn't seem like Jeff's really gone. But I guarantee you that Jeff heard Johnny play "I Love You So Much It Hurts Me". I still can't get over it. I've never heard him play with so much feeling and soul as he did. I'll also brag on Junior Knight's set. He also closed his set with a tribute tune to Jeff of "When I Dream". It was very moving and his tone was incredible, as was Johnny's. It was a fun weekend, one filled with laughs one minute and tears the next But I'm sure Jeff was smiling in heaven over what happened this week in Tulsa honoring him. I'm sure those of you who were there feel the same way.

Joan, I don't believe I ever heard you any better than you were last weekend. It was a superb job. You played great. Of course, it was enhanced by the great bass techniques by Johnny. You both always are right on top and it shows in your performance. Thanks for a great show. Wayne

First let me publicly thank Joan for her comments. I really did not know I was going to play that song until it happened. I can't tell you folks how wonderful it is to have Joan as my wife and best friend.

Thanks John, Don and all the OSGA folks for a great weekend. Everything was just perfect.

On behalf of MSA I want to thank all of those that came by our room and visited with us. We appreciate you taking the time to see and play the Millennium and giving us valuble input. We plan to be there next year.

Joan, as I listened to you play, I remembered the first time I saw you. You were just traveling through Tulsa and came to our show. We put on the spot by asking you to play and like the pro you are, you played so well we asked you back. It's wonderful to see how far you have come since that time. You played sooooo well last weekend. Thanks

Hi Doyle, thanks very much. I do remember that first time I played at the Tulsa show. It was in 1990. We were going through there on vacation, and Tiny Murphy asked me to come up and play on his spot. I'll never forget that day. I thought that was so nice of him to do that, and he really didn't know me that well; we had met a week or two before that. I have pictures of that. I remember one of the songs we did was "September In The Rain". I had heard him play it before, and listened to him, and then I took a stab at it. He told me later I did just fine. I'm sure many of you remember Tiny Murphy. He was a great friend, and he and I liked teasing each other. What a nice man, and a great player he was. It was nice of you and the other guys at the club to ask me on the show. Thanks for having me back each year since then.
