Our own Terry Bethel was recently awarded Branson Steel Guitarist of the Year at the OZ awards. In addition, Dino Strunk was awarded Guitarist of the Year. Dino usually handles guitar duties at the Branson steel guitar shows. The OZ Awards are conducted to honor performers in the Branson area shows. |

Congrats Terry! You really deserve it. Be sure and catch Terry at the Paul Harris show if you come to Branson. It has some great comedy and some of the best real country in town with Terry playing some awesome steel! The show is full of great pickers.

A worthy acknowledgement of an outstanding Steel Guitarist!

Terry...
Congratulations to one of the most underrated players there is and to one of the best friends I have. I love hearing "T" play and I do so every chance I can. Just like last week...we were laid up in Branson for 3 days and I went to see Terry and the Paul Harris Show 2 of those days. (I took the 3rd day off to try and soak it all in!!!)
Love ya, Brother! Keep playing your @$$ off!

Thanks for the kind words.
It was indeed an honor and a shock. Pat said she wished she had a camera to get a picture of the look on my face. Pat says I talk too much when I get a microphone in front of me, but when I got up there to accept the award, I couldn't think of one thing to say, I guess I was still in shock. There are some great players here in Branson and to be even nominated was an honor.
As if this wasn't enough of an honor, yes they are inducting me into The Missouri Country Music Hall Of Fame, this Sunday May 23rd. Normally these awards are bestowed on you when you retire, NO I AM NOT RETIRING!!!!!!!
I happen to have one of the best playing gigs in the world (The Paul Harris Show). I am definately staying where I am. Besides I am too busy to retire. The OzarkSGA, The pickin' gig, and Jerry Pansier and I are starting up the Bethel Steel Guitar Company again.
Busy, busy, busy.
Again Thanks one and all, it is appreciated,
Terry Bethel

Terry,
Well done, and I have to say, long overdue. You are in my personal HOF. I'll always treasure the time we traveled together. Getting to know you was worth putting up with "The Daddy's" peculiar
ways.
Lots of love,
Paul
