I tuned in Ron, and did enjoy listening.

It reminded me of my growing up days in Texas when I was immersed totally in Country Western. However in 1951, my musical taste took a twist when I first heard the Hawaii Calls programs. I immediately fell in love with Hawaiian music and the Hawaiian steel guitar playing. That has remained constant over the years.

However, I like to listen to old country/western on Saturday evenings still. When I was a child we always listened to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday evenings. I guess I can't get away completely from country western.

Thanks for the post.

Aloha,
Don

I was surprised and pleased to see this thread, since I am one of the directors of RAM Radio. I moderate the RCM (Real Country Music) forums and serve as the editor-in-chief of the monthly e-newsletter, RAMagazine. The whole crew at RAM Radio is dedicated to real country music and will bend over backwards to honor even the most obscure song requests. Our playlist includes music from the wax cylinder collection of one of the admins, mountain music, bluegrass, good hard-stompin' honkytonk, cowboy music and western swing.

They also have a blog which houses the past three issues of RAMagazine, the third issue of which just got published. Here's the link:

Thanks for spreading the word.
