I had some fun playing for the veterans tonight. Half way thru, my cd player conked out leaving me with no more BIAB. So, I played the old way, w/o backup tracks. After the initial panic left me, I did ok.
Notice guitar and shirt match!!!

Thanks for doing that, Ron. I'm sure they all loved it. You look pretty relaxed there, so guess you didn't get too "thrown off" without the biab.
I play for vets once in a while and I find it very rewarding, and it's my way of saying thank you to them. All are always appreciative of it, and I'm sure you felt that as well.
Bouquets to you....

Very cool looking, literally (the outfit).
I personally would think it very refreshing to hear those tunes just with steel. |

Ron,
This is really a great thing you did & do for the Vet's. I know they really enjoyed it. It's kind of lonely there and they look forward to visit's from the outside world. I know you put a lot of your own time into the effort to cheer them up.
BTW: Do you play Soccer? You look real Kool behind that beautiful Fender of your's.... .....TX
rgds,
Ron

my band the BAD DOGZ played for the Vets 2 weeks ago in Brooklyn...we enjoyed doing it for them. Our mandolin player live a block from this particular Vet's hall, but the reat of us had to drive 2 hours to get there from the Jersey Shore.
As Americans we owe our freedoms to Vets. I'll play for free fro Vets anytime!
My hat's off to them all.
Please remember to hang our "Old Glory" on Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th and on any anniversary you know of of a Vet's passing. That goes for you Canadians, too. So many of your brave lads died fighting the terrible world wars of the last century. |
