I know this has been answered before but I'm looking for a Bullet Bar that has finger indentations like a shubb or stevens bar. I like the bullet nose, but I miss the ability to grip the bar and move around the strings like I can with my dobro bar. I'm looking for the best of both worlds. |

That's funny. I have one of these bars but never thought of it as a bullet bar. I'll give it a try, but my thoughts were more along the track of a real bullet bar with grooves. Any such beast? |

Kenny Kitching in Australia...top steel Player......uses both....has had a Stevens Bar welded on top of a bullet bar....likes the feel of the Stevens...but the use of the Bullet and also reckons he gets a better tone out of the weight of both bars
Me..I just use Bullet on Steel and Stevens on Dobro

I use a Twister on steel annd Lap Dawg on dobro...although it is kind of fun to use the Lap Dawg on steel. It's lighter & quicker, but gives up a pinch of sustain.
Just a different sound/feel. No law against it. |

Carter used to make these. They called it the sacred steel bar. It is a 12string bullet bar with finger grooves on the side and top. I own one and like it very much, especially on the C6 neck. They are hard to find as Carter stopped making these a few years ago... |

That is exactly what I'm looking for. If anyone knows a supply of Sacred Steel bars, let me know. |

I'd like to see one of those too... I wonder if they'd start making them again given the popularity of the genre these days? John? You there?

I have one of each for 10 string. There were two models.
One had grooves on the sides. The other had grooves on the sides and top. On each, one end was squared off and one end was a bullet.
I'll post a photo when I get back in town, unless someone beats me to it.[This message was edited by HowardR on 22 July 2005 at 05:06 PM.] |
