Does anyone know what the going rate a studio musician makes? Let's say a session on steel guitar for 8-10 hours. Then if he plays more than one instrument on that session? If I went in the studio, set-up,tuned up,layed down some tracks, what would I charge?

I charge the same in the studio as I do on the bandstand. By the hour.

Kenny, there have been a bunch of threads on this topic over the past few years. If you do a search on "session rates" in the Steel Players subforum, you'll find several. Here's but one link http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum15/HTML/000337.html

If you want to look at the many different 'scales' that the Nashville Union sets, go to www.afm257.org . The going rate locally here is $100 a song, per instrument or whatever more or less you're willing to negotiate for.
