Yesterday, I spent about 10 hours shooting a music video. I was the PSG player in the band. The artist is a local guy named Floyd VanLaningham, and it was a good song called "Six Good Reasons." Floyd recorded this albun in N'ville with Brent Mason and Paul Franklin cutting most of the tracks.

This was an interesting experience, to say the least. Good production, the crew and gear was out of LA. Not sure where this video or album is going to pop up, but it would be worth while, if you stumble across it. Excellent songs and production.

Any other music video experiences out there?

I did some technical video to film stuff in NYC on a few video sets. Mostly syncing live video to the film for in shot TV monitors.
Ity's just nuts doing it during the crowd scenes out in the street.

A lot was RAP music, and I did edit several things of little note, and several directors reels with a lot of music vid's being cut up and rearranged for brevity.

I did get in the studio on a lighting gig, for Leathal Weapon III's promo music vid, with Eric Clapton, Sting, David Sanborn and Mickael Kamen.
All very nice poeple to work with.

I did some classical concert stuff at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center with Andre Previn, James Levine, Yo Yo Ma, Isac Stern and others. Shot and edited. With NPR radios mics as audio feed.

Even nicer people to work with in general, but MUCH bigger egos in some cases.
Mr. Ma is a really nice guy to be around.

I have done this last year a music video for Le Kitchs ; live show footage from tqo concerts, editied over an existing track, based on an old french folk tale, but performed rock with a hint of reggae.
And a 2 hour music school video this last summer.

Ben you must be photogenic!
But I wouldn't want to be the hands closeup after PF played on the track... LOL.

I'm not particulary photogentic, my biggest asset is that I'm 25.

I tried to fake the solo (only heard the song once before film started rolling), and yes, they did a close up. I just tried to get my bar in the right fret, and then just kind of flailed away with my right hand.

The producers loved it, so I figured the only people who'll be able to tell I didn't know what the heck I was doing is fellow players. Now I gotta go learn that solo so I can tell how bad I was.
