I was looking through some old forum threads and found a lot of references to a Ray Charles album with Buddy Emmons on it. What album is this? Is it still in print?
Thanks... Henry |

Buddy mentioned one called "The Volcanic Action Of My Soul". 5 tracks from in are on the Rhino boxed set "The Complete Country and Western". Ray proves you don't have to be George Jones to sing with soul |

I saw Buddy play a gig with Ray Charles during a DJ convention in Nashville during the late 70s / early 80s and Ray DID some George Jones! Awsome gig! |

Go to the 'Ask Buddy' section of the Emmons web-site - I sked him for some specifics about the 'Volcanic...' album, and he gave a full, and interesting reply.
I wish this was still avilable, but it's been out of print for years. It's well worth tracking down, though. Listen to his C6th solo on 'I Feel So Bad' - it's terrific!

I have a Ray Charles album called "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" with Buddy on it.
Ray Charles also did a country album featuring collaberations with other artists, including Willie Nelson, George Jones, Ricky Skaggs and others. Buddy Emmons plays on a track that Ray and Merle Haggard dueted on called "Little Hotel Room". Exquisite playing from the player who is simply the best.
