My new ukulele CD "Ukulele Stomp" has just been released on the UkeTone record label!

The sixteen track all instrumental CD features solo uke, ukulele duets and full band arrangements of Swing, Blues, Pop, Latin and Hawaiian numbers. I play all the instruments on the disk which include ukulele (Bushman concert Jenny), guitar, non-pedal steel guitar (1936 Rick B6) and bass.

Also on the disk is a studio remix of my steel guitar smash hit single "Stoned Soul Picnic". Stoned Soul Picnic was number one with a bullet for 14 weeks straight on the Internet's NPSGPLNCT chart! (Non Pedal Steel Guitars Playing Laura Nyro Cover Tunes)

Listen to sample cuts at my website: www.umich.edu/~gbross/

For USA orders, the disk is available for $14.95, postage included. For non-USA orders, email me for details.

Send cash, check or money order to:
Gerald Ross
P.O. Box 3245
Ann Arbor, Michigan 48106

For faster shipping use PayPal. www.PayPal.com (Paypal account: gbross@umich.edu).

"Ukulele Stomp" is also available through Elderly Instruments (worldwide shipping). www.elderly.com/recordings/items/UT-CD2300.htm

I’m sure you’ll enjoy the selections on the disk. I enjoyed recording this CD
over the last few months, and I am very pleased with the final mix of tunes and the recording quality.

I'm really proud of this disk!

Your friend,
Gerald Ross

Congratulations! But if you aren't going to make those sound clips any longer, I may have to buy a copy. Really though, it sounds wonderful.

I checked out that 6 string uke. Nice workmanship but the string spacing is too tight. Slants will be too hard.

Hi Gerald, your talent for musical instruments go beyond anything that I can imagine. I am new to steel guitar but it is good to know there is a fellow uke player here on the forum. I learned to play tunes by holding chords rather than playing individual notes. Got to make changes fast. Your picking style on your last guitar CD was mesmerizing, kind of reminded me of Chet Atkins. Looking forward to getting your new uke CD. You know a uke is still easier to carry around the world that a steel guitar. Right?

I received Gerald’s great uke CD today and I’m on my second listen right now. It’s a delightful collection played superbly. A wide variety of styles and intricate finger picking - on a uke yet. I highly recommend this record. It’s relaxing and invigorating.

Gerald, that uke sounds lovely. And that old D-18 sounds good too. I remember when you got. I wonder if Craig still has that Martin baritone uke he bought when we were in high school. Gotta ask him.

See you in St. Louie

Thank you Howard. And good luck on your France tour.

Yep it's the same D-18 that you remember. You came over to my house the day I got it (11th grade!).

Craig still has his "Tenor" Martin uke. He visited me last week on his Midwest tour.

Just got home from Winchester. We had Gerald's CD playing during the trip. Gerald can make an ukulele sound way better than an ukulele has a right to sound. It is truly a masterpiece recording.

I just got mine, and I love it! I have other recordings by ukulele greats like Ohta-San, Lyle Ritz and Roy Smeck, along with the "Legends of Ukulele" compilation put out by Rhino featuring other masters past and present, and I think Gerald's work ranks right up there among them. (Nice steel guitar, too) Congrats on a fine CD! Highly recommended.

Thanks guys. I had a great time recording the disk over the last few months.

It was also fun working with my old U of M buddy Amy Pace on the graphics, she's really talented, creative and has a nice warped sense of humor (the dancing "L and R" uke footsteps was my idea... she made it work though). Amy came up with the UkeTone records logo, pretty cool, huh?

The HSGA has hired Amy to redesign it's website and logo. Hopefully we'll see something new by this fall.

You guys should pick up a uke. There not that expensive and they are the ultimate travel "guitar".

I will be attending the Midwest Uke Fest in October. I will be playing solo in concert (now I have to relearn all the tunes on the CD ). I will also be conducting a Beginning non-pedal Steel Guitar seminar there.
