I'm sure this guitar is a Stringmaster, however, it has had some "work" done to it since it left Leo Fender's hands.

I emailed the seller and he said all that were missing are the string covers!!!!! I sent him a link to what it should look like.
Looks like the holes were drilled maybe for string pulls. Could be the original plates, you would just have to round the corners.

What I'm wondering is if the plate was Cut; to re-mount the bridge in a closer place, to make the scale shorter?? I can't tell from the picture if the bridge is indeed closer to the pickups; but if so; that would REALLY screw up the fretting of the instrument with the bar over the lines..ha.

It also appears that the wood has been routed out between the bridge and the end plates.

If the present-bid was a BIN price, it wouldn't be that much trouble to Re-Finish and replace the end~plates and make a nice l©©king, playable steel. The main drawback for me is the fact that the scale is 3½” too long for my liking! Otherwise, it hasn't been ruined completely. The Basics are still there. Wood~Holes are easy to fill in where necessary. The hardest repair would probably be the holes drilled in the tuning~wells! But, all is not lost for someone with a little ambition and knowhow!
