I tried clicking on the link to your web site and got a site that has nothing to do with guitars....there's a note on the page stating that your site has been hacked....it even has the hacker's name on the page. I tried clicking your email address to inform you, but I couldn't get email to send to that address.

Beautiful guitar!

Very strange, everything works fine now. But for a while there was a really nasty message there, with the hackers logo and all, plus a link to photos of civilian casualties from some massacre in Turkey or Algerie (can't remember which)......

Way too cool, Rick. Is it the 40-lb. behemoth you projected?
Also, since the body of the Bronzepan was especially resonant-- how's that bad boy sound?
And people say the Sierra Laptop is a load--this might be the first lap steel ever to require a "spotter"...

That's the heaviest guitar I've ever held. Ken Parker of Parker Guitars once made a guitar of concrete and it wasn't nearly as heavy as this.

Beautiful job, dude. It looked awesome unfinished, too.

Did your toes turn blue from lack of bloodflow? Now that would be a heavy guitar.

Till I get a chance to record something ... or get Mike or The Hula Monster over to give it a-go .. and capture them "live"... ...

I'll just say ...

This is the first steel that I have been able to easily tune my sixth string (C#) by matching the following "chimes" :

The (A) string ... chimed at the C# (a hair toward the nut - off the 4th fret) ...

To the ...

The (C#) string ... chimed at the C# (about 1/3 the distance to the bridge - off the 2nd fret)

I'm talkin' as loud and clear as most of my Rickys harmonics are ... at the 12th fret ...

And yes ... its a tad over 40 lbs ... but on a stand it feels the same as any other one ...

What is a "bother" is the patination ...

I polish it up (I like shiney stuff) ... and in two days its starting to form multi-colored patina.

I will lacquer it ... when I have some time.

The Stradivarius of the lap steels is born! This is a real "MaestroPiece" ! Gives you a good feeling to finally see all that hard work converted into hard tangibility, doesn't it?
Great job!!!

Maybe I should submit it to the Guinness Book folks ...

"Worlds Heaviest Hawaiian Steel Guitar" ...

Maybe I'd win a case of stout or something ...

There's something about that--I just want to touch it...to run my hands over it. No joke.
As to the patina---I'm a sucker for honest patina. Could have its own beauty.

Jon ... I may "give in" to patination ... the %#@$!&# thing seems to change colors overnite ... and really goes nuts if I leave my fingerptints on it ...

I know sculptors/artists are really into patinas ... it seems to be an art form in itself.

They use salts like copper II nitrate, iron III nitrate and potassium thiosulfate/potassium polysulfides to bring on the rapid oxidation of bronze ... then seal it in when they get the colors they like.

If nothin' else ... it'll make a dandy tombstone for me one day ...

Howdy Jesse ... nice to hear from you again ...

Yup, for what it's worth . . .my girlfriend is a faux finisher/decorative artist she gets paid good $$$ to patina walls, furniture etc. I say go with it, think of it as the 'finish that keeps on changing', or 'the guitar that's easy being green' . . .

p.s. uhhhh, by the by, how're my shoes coming along?
