I got a cd of Gene Watson for Christmas. As is typical, there are no credits to let you know who played what.
Al I know is the steel on "No One will ever know" just totally blew me away.
The whole cd is awsome but that one song.
Now does anyone know who it was?
Thank you

I think Buddy Emmons plays on almost all of Gene's stuff. By the way we are going to have Gene in Blountstown, Fl on March 13, 2004 if anyone can come. Mail me and I'll send you the info.

Gene also used Lloyd Green and Sonny Garrish. Don't know about that song though.

On The original Capitol album "No One Will Ever Know" Lloyd Green and Sonny Garrish are listed on Steel.

Tom:

I played for Gene from 1977 to 1986. Was lucky enough to record on eight albums in their entirety with Gene too.

But it was Sonny Garrish who played on "No One Will Ever Know." It was recorded at the Sound Emporium in Nashville with Jim Williamson engineering and I was in attendance. Sonny was playing his rosewood Emmons P/P (black wooden neck inserts, single coils etc.) through a Session 400. As usuall, he stacked alot of his parts.

According to my recollections, the session took place in late '79. I've kept better account of the sessions I did myself.

Hope this helps.
