For the music I got a new Dobro strap, and a couple of Brian Setzer Cd's. Also a mandolin and a great set of Sony headphones.

I will jump in because I did get some way cool things. The two that most relate to the Forum are 1) a Digitech Genesis3, a neat recording toy that I began to really like within about 5 minutes of putzing around with it, and 2) the complete collection of Amos 'n Andy TV shows, 74 episodes on VHS made from the original film masters (we're talking 36 hours here).

Here's the problem. I should be recording my new course material with the Genesis3, but I'm spending my time watching Amos n' Andy!!

Also got an excellent casserole pot (I cook), and a voluminous book on tools, fasteners, hardware, etc.

I got some shirts, an SM57, a JBL K140, and enough goodwill to weather yet another season where people evidentally think that their fits, breakdowns, criminal acts, and other attempts to grab attention are put to the forefront of my conciousness because of the holiday season..

well, almost enough...

I will happily tell you what I got.

On Christmas eve, my children and grandchildren got together to have dinner and exchange a few gifts.

My wife and I got the greatest christmas gift that we could have asked for.

Sitting at the head of a huge table we counted a total of 25 of our little family, including my little granddaughter who has had a 6 year battle with cancer and is holding her own.

When we married, a little less than 40 years ago, we certainly had no idea that we would be so richly blessed. To celebrate the birth of the Savior in such a way, could not have been sweeter.

My wife bought me a "Out West" Pak Seat. I have been using a small stool for quite awhile and my back was killing me. This seat sure makes the difference! She also bought me a BJS bar back in October for my birthday. I have a great wife who INSISTS on setting up and tearing down my guitar each time I play somewhere! Guys, we're talking an Emmons D10 P/P which is 75 lbs. in the case. I think that she likes the reaction from people when she flips it over after she assembles it. The look from other people that says "I wouldn't mess with THAT woman"! LOL I'm a REAL lucky guy!

The Guitar Music History Book with the history of the players and who played what...a couple of DVDs and a stand alone Phillips Audio CD recorder/copier ..which does not work..the CD Writer is ka-put..

I gave my wife the first season DVD set of Law and Order..so we watched that instead of playing with my broken new toy ! This set is only 24 hours long unlike Herbs 36 Hours of Amos and Andy. Good Grief Kingfish !

Remember, our success is not measured in how great our toys are but rather by the character of the owner of the toys..

Wishing you all a safe and healthy New Year..

I received the video of Sarah Jory and Joe Wright which I purchased myself. I also received a DVD player, a new jacket from my employer and a Bible study on CD. The one thing I received from my mother-in-law was a CD of the Morman Tabernacle Choir. I have not understood that gift as of yet since I do not like choir music of any kind. I was hoping for that Emmons push-pull steel guitar but I guess I will have to wait till next year.

I recieved a Boss Jam Station. Similar ti BIAB but not as comprehensive. But it is portable. You can program your own cords to a song in most any genre you want. It's great for just usuing it as a back up to practice with. I have a 16 track Yamaha and it a nice addendum when you want to use a backup to record your own stuff. So lets have some fun with our new toys!!!!

The DVD set of 'The Godfather' movies, a stuffed version of Nikko, the 'Wizard of Oz' flying monkey, Miles Davis 'Sketches of Spain', AJ's Christmas CD with Lloyd Green, a new keyboard for this computer so I'll stop mis-typing where the letters have become invisible on the old one, far too much chocolate for a 60+ with mild type-2 diabetes, and a present from myself to me - a new Gibson 'Lucille' in cherry red.....

RR

PS: I wish they'd do a complete set of Laurel & Hardy on DVD - maybe in time for NEXT Christmas?
