Hi everyone.....just thought I would let our Northern Hemisphere friends know how easy they have got it.....down here in Australia we are called `down under` for obvious reasons...we are on the bottom of the planet....this makes playing very difficult....you guys just get to your gig.set up and start playing........down here we have to mess about bolting our equipment to the stage/floor otherwise all our gear would fall off the floor and land on the ceiling........years ago when playing with a rock and roll group i forgot to nail down my amp......two bars in and the thing headed for the roof......started out the gig with a Mesa Boogie...... ended it with a Messie Booga !!!!!!!!!!also playing a psg upside down kinda puts a different slant on our music !!!
so please.spare a kind thought for us poor souls down here..lolol.
Incidently I would like to thank all those people who have offered advice and help to this newbie.....how great it is to get replies and even e-mail from the best in the world....and they don`t even know me.........yet......thanks everyone....

I have a friend in OZ with magnetic shoes and good balance, but he's a keyboard player.
He's single now.. his girl friend floated away last summer in a stiff wind. Last sited over Tiera del Fuego.

Does the water really go around in the opposite direction, in the toilet bowl or sink, when it drains out? It's that kinda stuff we northern folks really must learn about.

There hasn't been any gravity in Australia since 1948 but they keep it hush hush. Why do you think Steve Irwin runs around in those clunky, heavy boots in a tropical climate? They're weighted with lead.

Jason, have word in his ear will you, after all he is from Victoria. It's hard enough to salvage any kind of respect as it is with Tony Davis on the forum , Thank goodness I'm a Tasmanian.

It's no joke about water swirling in a different direction in the southern hemisphere. It's due to a phenomenon called "The Coriolis Force." You can read about it here:

Oh no it's NO joke.......nine months after returning from Australia I still can't get my hair to stop standing on end.
On second thoughts maybe I shouldnt blame gravity for that, it was probaly just the shock of being around Tony Davis!!!!!!

I spent some time "Down Under" a few years ago, it was the most backward country I ever visited. When it is daylight here, it is dark there, when it's Summer here, it's Winter there, they drive on the wrong side of the road, and when you flush the toilet, the water swirls the wrong direction, oh well.............

Whats all this? Your all the ones with accents...not us...we dont have accents..everything here goes around the correct way...its you lot that are different....although when I try to play an Irish or an American CD it runs backwards at the wrong speed....so Hag sounds like the Chipmonks, your dog comes back to life,Grandma
gets out of jail, your girlfriend comes back to you and you have enough money for a couple of beers!
What I want to know is...how do Tornadoes know how to turn in the opposite direction when they reach the Equator?...How does water know how to go in the opposite direction down the drain hole when it reaches the Equator.....come to think of it...if a Thermos knows to keep hot things hot and cold things cold...how cant I have two cups of black coffee and an ice cream in mine?
These are the things I want to know!

Well, if everything works backwards in Austrailia, at least you don't ever have to worry about your pants falling down!
