Everyone should read Bobbe's email news letter. He just described his first performance and the OPRY. What a great description of my dreams of playing there and rubbing shoulders with the Legends of country music. Mine was only a dream, his was the real thing. |

Earl I just read it and what a great memory
this must be for Bobbe. I'm afraid like so much Americana, a time long lost for us and
our children. Thanks Bobbe for sharing this
wonderful snapshot of time with us.Wish we
all could have been there. |

Thank you very much for mentioning the newsletter here. We have thousands of people on our electronic e-mail mailing list. I would like to invite everyone that reads this to join. I cover many subjects having to do with the steel guitar life. Being a personal direct e-mail, there is no censoring of any kind and very little negativity. This electronic mailing list is for the purpose of staying in communication with all of you great players and people. I also take feedback from each of you and much of this feedback leads to the following weeks' communication.
To sign up for this free service, all you have to do is go to my website and read the simple instructions. Of course, my website is www.steelguitar.net. I would like to thank each and every one of you on the mailing list and those of you that will be joining for participating in this new communication medium.
This weekly communication has turned into a sort of electronic steel magazine. However, its subscription list is much larger than most steel guitar magazines have ever enjoyed.
Again, I want to thank each and every one of you for your participation.

Thanks Bobbe for putting me on your list. I really enjoy Bobbe's tips you put out and appreciate the common sense approach you use . You certainly are a lighthouse to many steel players, especially to those who are starting out and in the early years of the steel guitar. Your memory of the Opry was a touching story to me. I for one have been disgusted with the way the Opry has changed but they never asked my opinion. I look forward to more of the tips you put out on e-mail. |

I read Bobbe's Tips and promptly sent him a personal e-mail remembering and thanking him for not only telling of his experiences, but; thanking him for his sharing of the experience, by making it possible for me to have the same wonderful experience of working that same stage for several years. The best years of my musical life which have influnced my great respect for Bobbe's unselfishness in sharing with others his good fortune! Thanks again Bobbe!

Thank you John for the nice words. I remember the first Sho-Bud pamplet ever printed in the '50's, Your name was in it and a picture of the guitar you bought. You have been a great player for a long time!
