Bob Wingrove (Ontario) is still active, and was one of the steelers featured on the wonderful "Northern Steel" CD. Bob's feature is "Moonglow".

| Bobby Black and his brother Larry played on a San Francisco TV station in 1953 and they were the most knocked out part of a great band. They still are fine players. Sure wish there were films of those super shows. |

I have a 45 rpm Sun records recording made in 1956 with John Hughey on it, I reckon he must have been playing more than two years when he did that!! It is good!  |

| Glad to hear Bob Wingrove is still playing. Back in the 70's I was a young TV cameraman on a show called "Country Way" produced in Ottawa Canada. Bob was the steel player on that show , a great C6th man, not to mention a very funny guy too. He showed up with a 1929 dobro one night and I was so impressed I found out how he tuned it, went home and raised the strings up on an old flat top and used a spark plug wrench as a bar. I was hooked. Bob sure caused me to spend a lot of money on steels over the years, I even bought my first pedal steel from him. A really great guy. |

La. hayride 1949 with Sammy Barnhart does that make the grade. In the 50s with Smoky Metcalf who wrote Mind your own business.
Ramer String band in the early 40s.
