Today I heard for the first time Alan Jackson backing up Lloyd Green on the radio . I believe Alan's song was "Remember When". I heard it at work out of a bull horn-type speaker (which actually amplifies the steel tones more than the bass or high end), but still, it was a real treat. I quit what I was doing and listened one of the richest tones that exist from a steel player (even out of a bull horn).
Wow!

For me that solo was kind of like Sandy Koufax coming back into baseball this year, and the first time up pitching a no hitter in the last game of the world series.
This solo is not only the best thing I have heard in a while, it's an amazing tribute to Lloyd, that he can step back in the game and hit one out of the park. (I know I am not only mixing, but confusing metaphors).
Congratulations, Lloyd!

Mark, I was in St. Louis and heard Lloyd do the full instrumental Twice on stage. If you miss that , then you missed seeing Lloyd back at his best. I hope that he puts this song on one of his cd's. The solo with Alan is great, but hearing it on stage live was a treat...

Keep it up and I'll have to buy that Greatest Hits CD, even though I have all of Alan's CD's except the earlier Greatest Hits. That includes 2 Christmas CD's.

I did hear Lloyd do that song at the Convention, and enjoyed it very much. Bobby Caldwell did some excellent guitar playing as well. The whole tune just "reached out and grabbed you." |

Hey Mark, That is a GREAT cut..
Lloyd also has a fairley new album out
"Lloyd Green Revisited" It is LG at his best. I think you can get it on the forum or at [URL=http://www.lloydgreenmusic.com
If you ever talk to Lloyd you might ask him to tell you the Live @ Panther Hall/Charley Pride/Cowboy story, or about the duo Charley anda Lloyd, or what B Emmons told him when asked about Farwell Party..
Besides being one of the greatest players of all time, Lloyd could write a book on his life, and all the things he has seen, heard, and been involved with thru the years..
