Who is the steel player on Pat Green's video, "Wave On Wave"? I saw where he was playing a black Emmons and they show him sliding the bar up close. Brett Day, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

Brett,

That would Mike Daily out of Nashville (not to be confused with Mike Daily from George Strait's Ace In The Hole Band, who, incidently, is another amazing picker and all around nice guy). Pat's Mike is an awesome picker who does it all from "cry-in-your-beer" ballads to all out rockers. If you have a chance to see a Pat Green show, do it. Although he's not a country traditionalist, he still puts on a great show FOR his audience. We've done quite a few shows with Pat and I never seen one that didn't rock the house.

The Wave On Wave video was shot at The Backyard in Austin, Texas on May 31, 2003. We were on the bill for that show and had a blast. Here is a link for some of our pics from the show:

I was really enjoying the "Wave On Wave" video until I saw Ben Dorcy's face on camera. Then they lost me.

Herb, is Ben still alive? The last time I saw him alive he looked dead. Ben has been everywhere and done it all, Valet for John Wayne, etc. See you down the road, Jody.

Jody,

Ben "Lovey" Dorcy was on the road with the Kevin Fowler Band for about a year. Many times, we'd be rollin' on the floor, laughin' at the stories and jokes Lovey'd come up with. As far as I know he's doin' fine and I think he still helps out with Willie Nelson's road trips. He lives out in the Bandera,Texas area and stays busier than any other 77-year old man I know.

Keep on pickin'!
