Wife and i drove down to Starr, S.C. last Sunday and i finally got to meet Joe and
he invited me to see his studio where he
turns out all those great backup CD's. He
also played some tunes for us. Wow what a picker and what a really nice fellow. He had
a lot of things to dso. but he made us feel
really welcome. Looking forward to visiting
with him again. That is some kind of a nice
Marlen S-12 that he plays. Also had three
other nice steel guitars. Fine person, fine picker

Joe Turner is a class act.Too!
Great Picker and great guy who has received far too little recognition.
Don't get to see Joe as much as I'd like too.

Joe is a class act, whether behind the steel or totally away from it...All of us wish we could play like him; maybe with a little work we could have the same class this guy has, even if we don't have the talent and ability to play like him.

The first time I ever went to Saluda, I heard the incredible sounds of Joe Turner. Having been to soo many conventions and heard so many, and being BE's number one fan (ista fact bubba-so grin and bear it! ), few turn me on. But this young man did. I was in awe to his heartfelt prhrasing and dexterious virtuoso.

A little of Lloyd Green, still much of his own playing dazzled my ears during his set.
Each time I have seen him since, he does the same. Truly a remarkably fine player. And his playing is only exceeded by his being a wonderful person.

I love this kid. I cannot say enough about him. May Jesus continue to nurture his incredible talent.

Joe Turner doesn't even know how to take his steel apart! Seroiusly, Joe's right up there with Larry Moore, as far as being people, as far as I'm concerned.
