Billy Dale SEXTON,I posted the last name wrong, Shellnut was the leader of the Dixie Echoes who he sang and played with. Billy Dale plays PSG, at one time with the Dixie Echoes in Pensacola Fl. He is the one started me on PSG. He does mostly gospel and sometimes preaches. I would very much like to find him and renew old friendship.

I might also add that Billy Dale is not only a good steel player and vocalist, but is also a very good song-writer. His album[hello satan! your kingdom is coming down] is all his songs and has a guy by the name of Sonny Garrish playin steel and dobro on it. real fine album |

I gave Billy Dale steel guitar lessons when he was about 9 years old best I can remember. Billy was the best student I ever had. His Dad worked for the sanitation department and Dale like me grew up very poor as far as finances were concerned but his Dad saw to it that Dale and his two sisters had very good musical instruments. He bought Billy Dale a brand new D8 Gibson Console Grande on payments at the music store I taught at. Billy couldn't even carry
the guitar as it probably weighed more than he did. He loved to play and was very quick to learn and was playing nonpedal by ear very quickly. He has written some great songs. Billy was at Ronnie's Steel Guitar Show in Hot Springs last weekend. He currently lives in Ft Smith, Arkansas. He is a very talented musician, singer, songwriter and will preach at the drop of a hat.
