I talked to my pal, Ivan Guernsey, last night, and he told me he's stopped taking orders for a while, till he gets caught up some. His current wait time is 2 years !
So if anybody wants the world's finest reso, he's gonna have to wait awhile.
(I got mine Jan. 19, 1993)
(I be all smiles tonight!) |

We are in a golden age of luthery. There are many of the finest resophonic luthiers building the highest quality guitars today. More so than ever I would dare say.
There are many options available today, whether it's a 2 year wait or a 2 month wait.
I don't believe "the world's finest reso exits." Some are better than others I'm sure. Most are propably different as perceived.
You can have your cake and eat it too. It's a buyer's market in terms of choice. |

"I don't believe "the world's finest reso exits." "
Actually, my guitar just told me, "Hello, I must be leaving!"
There are some great builders out there---I love my Guernsey, but I've heard and played most of the other guys' stuff, too, and everybody's gettin' it. Tone is SO subjective, I don't really think the worlds' finest kazoo will ever come around.
Unless Ivan builds it |
