Pictured here, at the bottom left corner of this larger picture, is my prewar Rick. It sits on the left end, on the floor.
If one looks closely at the far right side of this guitar, next to the volume knob, one can clearly see the "two", extremely RARE, buttons about which so many here on the Forum have recently become obsessed with. http://www.harrismusic.net/images/ricks.jpg
This is not an example of an "EXPRESSION" pedal or button, but rather, the Much, much rarer "Doo-Wah" button, in living color for all of you to see and experience. Right next to it, is the long held secret, and likely never been seen before, is the infamous "WAH-Dooooooo" button.
Seeing is believing. Just ask Jody! He knows I'd never tell a lie as we were both cut from the same mold and then it was destroyed. Questions are okay but please limit them to one word or less.

Holy Moly!!! What a great collection. Ray, are you using the same C6/A7 tuning on all the Ricks or are some of them tuned to other tunings?

Ray,

If I had that room, I would just sit there and look at it hour after hour.

There is NO one that can have that incredible display of one of the world's most sought after steel guitars.

No one! Not even you

Seriously friend, you make me cry. Woweee, what a collection. Enjoy them in good health dear friend,

carl

Jesse: At the moment they are all tuned as you mention as I had to hear HOW they each sounded in that famous JB tuning. I was attempting to determine which one might have that RARE moan......... I do plan to restring each of them and that is a chore that truly has me overwhelmed. I've collected a list of JB's most relied on tunings and plan to tune each one to a different JB tuning for future learning, etc.

And Carl, I do go into that room and "cry". I cannot believe that they're all sitting there for me to play. For decades my best friends had lectured me to give up hoping to find one as they'd likely all turned to dust since they were so old. So, for forty years,
I longed for "just one" to turn up. When I got my first one four years ago, it gave me a new hope and burning desire to have just one more, just in case. Then of course, the EVIL PRINCESS of DARKNESS stole #2 along with my Rick Amp that was a priceless little amp.
I have one additional Rick Bakelite that isn't in the photo..... and of course, the little Harmony amp I just acquired REALLY rounds out my "collection" or whatever.
The 4-neck, six pedal Bigsby, is in another corner, couldn't get it up on the daveno. Likewise, same problem with my Emmons P/P and amps.
Thanks for your responses.

Bobby Lee & Russ Young.........
the dbl-8 Rick was new in 1965. It's the small pickup as you can see but has an awsome sound..... I had just given up trying to find a Bakelite. It took me about three years for the Rick Salesman to come to town with the guitar.

So much for my thinking, Ray!

Does the D-8 have legs? If so, three or four?
