I tried to learn Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov's symphonic suite "Scheherazade" (Opus 35)
.
.
.
but it always cams out sounding like "Great Speckled Bird."

I've always wanted to put together a record of Glenn Miller's old "AMERICAN PATROL". I was never a pop band fan but that tune really gave me some musical things to think about, with the various moving parts, sorta like a John Phillip Suza military march arrangement. It's fun to day dream.

"Giant Steps"
It just eludes me every time I try to work it up. Solo always sounds like rain on a tin roof.

I can play "Stumblin" on six string, but have never been happy playing it on steel. Just can't seem to get it up to speed, with the right sound. Jerry

Night Life. I've never been in a band that played it, so I never learned it.

Bobby:

Same here. That's a tremendous and now world famous chord pattern among musicians -- but I have never learned it. I can play the heck out of Great Speckled Bird, though.
