I'm going to get a chance to hear the "Wheel" at the Merlefest in Wilksboro, N. C. in two weeks. Does anyone know if Jim Murphy will be playing steel with them. I'm really looking forward to seeing them live for the first time.

Alan, please tell "Asleep At The Wheel" to have a few cups of black coffee before getting back on the road.

...just kidding. They do a good job.

Nick, did you get a chance to see "rhe Wheel"? Still wondering if Big Jim is going to be with them at Merlefest on the 24th. I sure hope the doctors gave him a passing grade.

Ricky, have you heard anything? We're all pulling for you Jim.

Just returned, after a nice weekend.
Jim Murfy is still fighting health-problems. His seat as filled by John Ely, on hawaiian-steel, and he did a great job, What a band!! After being a fan for 25 years, I had the pleasure to see them live for the first time in my life!! Never will forget that!!

No wonder I'm having trouble playing the steel, my fingers are not working very well.
That location in Eugene should read:
THE SHEDD !

Johan, Either you misheard the name, or I did...
... But I'm pretty sure it was John Ely playing with AATW. Looked like him too....
Great show! What impressed and surprised me (probably shouldn't have) was what a good singer Ray Benson is, especially on the slow jazz ballad type things.
