Well, the bellcranks, and pedal rod connectors do, as well as the kneelevers, dont know if they did anythign different with the later models with the full aluminum subframe, but there is none on this guitar, There is no center crossshaft support. The stops for the changer doesn't look 100% right either, however where the Serial # is, and hwo the springs attach to the endplate do look right, but the pedals definitely look like NO MSA I've ever seen
I'm wondering if this was a custom, or one off MSA, or possibly some were done this way.
I wonder if someone didn't take some old MSA parts, and fabricate a homemade steel. What is really funny is that the seller only shows 1 pic of the undercarriage, and none of the top, front, back, sides, any closeups anything... something is VERY fishy here!![This message was edited by Gino Iorfida on 26 March 2003 at 02:56 PM.] |

Looks like a reworked Classic SS (super-small) to me! Yeah, somebody's ground the sides off the pedals, and they ground off #3 pretty badly (lop-sided), but the pedals, mechanics and end plates are MSA. I suspect it's probably what he says it is. |

All SS models had a thick front apron therefore an aluminum frame was not necessary when considering the much smaller size.
A center cross shaft support was also not necessary because of the small size of the overall guitar.
The pedals shown are the same pedals we used on all MSA's. Some people preferred a more narrow pedal, so we milled off each side to accomodate their wishes.
Looking at the picture, which of course does not reveal much, I see only MSA original parts for that particular model.
The "SS" designation was for "Super Small" (the new Millennium is the same size) and it was and still is, a great playing and marvelous sounding guitar. |

Thanks Reese. Of all people you should know.
You know I have been an MSA man from way back but I had never seen the "Super Small" models.

Hi Reece,
Looked like early MSA pedals to me too, but like Maurice and others state it looks more like someone has put it together?
I played two of Reece's MSA steel guitars and they were, and they remain state of the art quality.
Maurice, you know your one of our favorite steel players of all time too!
GOD bless you brother!

Hey, guys-
Looks like the case was used to having an 8 pedal guitar in it, too..

I think it might be a 55Millennium model. |

If you look, you can see the MSA label on the undercarriage.
This guitar at this price is a steal (no pun intended.) I can't believe nobody has bid on it yet. |

Moved to 'Pedal Steel' section of the Forum.
I wonder why there's no picture of the top side. This thing might be pretty badly butchered.
