I believe the Steeler behind Mark Chesnut
Looked like he was from Japan. I saw and heard a Steeler of Asian extraction that sounded OUTSTANDING on the Opry Sat. Help me out. Who was it??? |

Oh my God, Steel, that was none other than the famous Hank Yamaguchi, only I never thought he looked like a foregener. Anyway, he sure can pick, huh? |

Mark's steel player is Slim Yamagucchi. Slim was playing an Excel. Brett Day, Emmons S-10, Morrell lap steel |

No Ted, you're probably thinking of
Paddy O'Yamagucchi. No relation.

Slim is a very nice, approachable guy and a very accomplished player with a good sense of humor. For a skinny guy, he can eat a ton of pre-show catering. He does play an Excel, but watch out; he may try to trade you out of your Emmons. - DJ - |

Hey Ted, what made you think that he looked Irish? Did he have a pint of Guinness next to his steel? |
