Monster.com has a new Commercial(first one) to be aired during the SuperBowl....and the Dale Watson band is the background Music to this commercial.
WE recorded several songs to be submitted up against alot of other artist and their songs for the chance to be selected for this monster.com commmercial...
Well, we got picked and we are all very excited about this new commercial....so when you hear the commercial during the Superbowl....that is yours truly on the Fulawka......yeeeee haaaaa!!!

Congratulations Ricky.

With Super Bowl commercial time going for $750,000 for 30 seconds, I hope you are getting the bulk of the three quarters of a million.

Rick

Ricky...if the commercial (and you on the Fulawka specifically)sound anywhere close to what I heard in Atlanta a few months back, it will be one awesome commercial. I'll be listening close!

Contrats to you and the rest of the band, Ricky.

This jeapardizes my prediction about the amount of steel we'll hear during halftime. I'll have to add a disclaimer regarding steel in commercials.

Congrats Ricky!
You're gonna be rich with royalties!

You and Dale deserve to be proud.

I'm sorry to say that we see different commercials in Canada, so I'll miss it.

Saw the 60 minutes special on Sheryl Crow. She got her start by singing the jingle for a McDonalds commercial which ended up having a year long heavy rotation run. She said she made about 40K that year for the commercial,......ya never know.

I suspect Monster.com might provide you with a digital clip of their commerical, if you tell them you're gonna post it.

It's free advertising for them.
Couldn't hurt to ask.

Ok I found out that it will air during the Second Quarter at some point.
It comes on quick and is over before you know it.
Starts with a big Simi Truck in the backgroud of a meadow...and the steel guitar does a huanting intro slide..than we're off to the races...as the truck comes crashing through town cause it has no driver..ha...hence the Monster.com job placement site..ha.
Bill Mack does the commentary starting about the 10sec mark...right where I'm doing this cool Buck Ownes type chickin' pickin...ha...so you don't hear that all too well....but finishes up with a nice Horn honk..ha.
I will have this 30 sec. Commercial on the Mightyfinemusic.com website after it airs...
Have fun.

Hey Ricky...I was just in the Grocery store check-out line and the Super-Bowl was playing over the store speakers when I heard the "slide", but there was so much noise around me that I couldn't hear any more of it....maybe they will do it again! www.genejones.com

Ricky ,

Great job on the commerical !! You probably have set an all time record for the number of people who listened to a steel guitar all at one time !! Millions and millions !!Your record will no doubt never be broken ! How about that ???

Also many thanks again for all the help you gave Jimmy Day's brother , Joe and me the links and information about Jimmy's playing "Farewell Party" so Joe could hear it . He appreciated it very much as did I .

Again -- great job on the Super Bowl !!

John
