Red Foley does a beautiful old tune on Jerry's Music.......page of the JerryByrdFanClub.com site........and a close listen to Jerry Byrd's playing technique will cause you to sit up and take notice.
Old records yet, with a modern day sound.

Thanks for sharing that Ray. Neat... JB trading fours with a fiddle. I think the use of space is just superb in these recordings you post. I feel it's something sorely lacking in a lot of today's music (Hawaiian, especially).

I also dig your playing behind Manny Fernandez. I have to say though, honestly, that was the only thing I enjoyed on that recording. Everything else was sloppy. And apparently the engineer didn't have a clue about how to mix a steel in... or how to mix anything, for that matter.

...plus you had to put up with Manny playing the wrong diminished chord in the intro and every A section turnaround (or was it the bass and piano's fault for not following his lead?). That would have driven me up the wall.

Ray, you poor guy. You have my sympathy .
