Last night on CMT on the "Best of Austin City Limits" show they featured Ronnie Milsap. He had a steel player that looked like he was playing an MCI. Does anyone know who that might have been? Thanks, JH

I wondered the same thing. It was a black MCI.

Milsap's had a pretty distinguished succession of steel players, and this was taped in '1987' - who WAS it?

Although he's one of my favourite players, I have no idea what Dickey Overby looks like! From the date, I would have thought it was him, but I don't know.....

Well, what a silly chap I am - I actually taped the show, and I'd forgotten that I had!

I've checked the credits - the steel player's name is Bruce Brooks. Strangely, they credited Ronnie's long-time guitarist, Jack Watkins as 'rhythm guitarist', but omitted the name of the guy who took ALL the solos (to the exclusion of the steel player!)

Roger,
I think that lead guitarist is the guy who has the shaved head now who joined the Opry staff band when they fired Leon Rhodes. He was also on the last edition of the night show on the Nashville Network. JH
