Jerry Fessenden says he'll have my D-12 done next week. With him shipping from Vermont to Texas, it should be here pretty close to the first of January.

I think that was two years ago that I got a black 12 string from Jerry. Since then he built me a 13 string that Terry Wendt now has. I've played D-12's for over 30 years and decided to stick with them.

I'll never sell my Dekley since I helped design it and built this one for myself, but I sure do like the sound and lighter weight of the Fessenden. Jerry worked for me at Dekley for a while and seems to have learned a little about building pedal steels.

Jerry likes the Pitman pickups and recommended that I try them, so I will.

Jerry's gonna start on my new one in early January, so mine will be ONE of the first for the new year (hopefully).

yup
Probably for sale in February or so. There's already some interest in it and I've only mentioned it to a couple of people.

Interestingly enough, I am also a member of the 'Jim Smith Orphan Steel' program. It's the black guitar Jim refers to above. He's so demanding -- first he had to have another string, but that wasn't enough, so he sold that one to Terry -- and now he's gotta have 12 more -- what's this world coming to? All I wanted was a little more room so I got a 'double wide'. (hope it comes with an awning and checkered plastic curtains)

I'll send you a pic of the new one for the website when one is available.
