I've been playing rock 'n' roll for most of my life and I've recently added a PSG to my very small collection of guitars. I've always been fascinated with PSG, but during my younger years I was scared away because it is too strongly associated with country music. I enjoy some of the discussions about music on the SGF, and I hope to throw my two cents in whenever I feel the urge to discuss the future of this often misunderstood musical instrument.

Welcome. I've only been here a short time myself. Nice to have another "Pro III" owner. Can't beat 'em. They're the "telecaster" of PSG. They dont' even mind an occaisomal clean-up.
I'm trying to get into different venues myself. I enjoy the "rockabilly/swing" stuff that's popular with some of the "vampire girl/bowling shirt" younger crowds.

an outlet for your passion of music like I have. I notice you have a Seagull. What a great guitar.I too have a background in all kinds of music and now want to apply them to pedal steel.I love the twang but also
love the crunch.

Me too, Leslie. But by the age of 12 I was an unabashed (life-long) Merle Haggard fan. If a California teenager can get beyond that then you can too.

Leslie,
I am also relatively new, since 2000. This forum is professional, as much as it is friendly. Everyone here has been very helpful to me, especially as a crossover player from regular guitar. I have asked plenty of 'revealing' questions only to have them taken seriously and answered honestly and beyond my expectations, and with NO cynicism. The genuineness here is humbling.
Welcome. I hope as a new member welcoming one I always remember the warm reception I received, even tho I opened my first post with a fairly controversial issue!!! D-10 or U12 for my first purchase... you should have seen the fireworks!!! Now I have had both. Thanks to all who helped guide me on..
