My buddy Warren goes to St Louis each year with a friend from Melbourne...who tapes just about everything.....so I asked could I get a copy of Smileys set.
Well Geof from Melbourne send a CD to Warren to give to me....really well done....of Smileys Sunday morning Set....Blew my socks off!!!!...I have other stuff that he plays on but this is absolutely magic....little bit of everything.....finishing with a tribute to Pete Drake....with a talk box and shivers and hair standing up on the back of my neck wailing blues......shear magic!!!!!!
Glad that I am able to call Smiley a mate!!!!
Geof also put on John Hugheys set for me too....what can I say......John also knocks me out...havent finished playing his set as I only got it late today.....but I dont know John yet....but I sure hope Smiley introduces me to him sometime...the master of tone !!!!!!

Myron,

I'm not aware of any ban on audio recording, but I know that they've made a practice of forbidding video recording at Scotty's. I'm not sure what the core issue is, but I guess with the newer cameras they're afraid of an unauthorized HBO special being produced from a home video recording.

Smiley was great at St. Louis and I'm glad that others got to hear it.

Hurry up and get your skates on Tony. I wanna hear it too and I don't intend waiting until I get to Brisbane to hear it either. Maybe I should rattle Geoff's cage while I'm at it......that would make a nice early Christmas pressy!
Enjoy both Smiley and John Hughey. OOOOOOOH I'm getting shiver up my spine just thinking about it!!!

Hey Myron!
I think there must be no restriction about audio taping as Geoff sets up with a Mic on a tripod and stuff.....out in the open.....not sort of sneaky under a dirty raincoat.....and boy!..does he do a great job of recording live from the floor!....I have a few others that he has done and they are great.
You say you caught Smiley in Mass...well as he was playing Sunday morning about 10.30 or so...I guess it must have been the evening Mass....I wonder if he went in his shorts over jeans gear...with his flagpole shirt?
I bet he only went 'cos he heard there was free wine and biscuits!!!!!

Hey..AMOK..you know you'll get a copy..just have to organise it,and I agree...Smiley should play Dallas.......Lets start a Campaign.....what position do you suggest...I'm not real up on American football.....Quarterback ?......Smiley for the Dallas Cowboys !!!!!!!!!!!!

Really enjoyed spending time with Smiley last weekend we had a great time together. He is a super guy and terrific player. Hope we can do it again soon. Also thanks to Sandy Kendrick for putting up with us.

I don't know Roger. He took them off once, and he was just as ugly.

Just shows good looks don't make you play better. Smiley knocked us off our seats.
