Will be down in Houston area for a few weeks and was wondering about the live country music scene. Are there many bands in the area with steel players, and what are the names of some of the clubs that have country bands? Would appreciate any info on this. Thanks,Russ |

You might try Bobby Bowman here on the forum. He's in that area and probably could help you.

I will be playing with a singer by the name of Stephen Brown at Mo's Place in Katy, TX this Saturday, 10/26/02. Email me if you are coming, and I will put your name on the guest list so you don't have to pay a cover charge. [This message was edited by Cameron Parsons on 21 October 2002 at 02:48 PM.] |

Check out a club called BLANCO'S not too far from downtown. On Friday nights there is just about always someone there worth seeing. |

Russ, what are the dates you will be there? I have a gig in Houston with Jason Allen opening for George Jones on Nov 2, and a Jim Lauderdale date later in the month...... |

Russ-good luck in your move to Texas-again the Chicago area looses another steel player-not many of us "old timers" left around up here-will Crossfyre still be giging without you? |
