Terry, Try a search in Pedal Steel using the searchwords "best strings" or "string brands". There are a lot of opinions there. |

Larry's right, and you're going to get a lot of opinions.
Myself, I always liked GHS half-rounds, but I can't find em anymore.
I've always preferred GHS over Ernie Ball guaged. As Follows: .36-8, .34, .32, .30, .26, .20plain, .17, .12, .10, .13, .15. For the third string, .11s and .09s always seem to break. that's on my 24" scale.
I'd not buy another set of Sierra strings on a bet. I played them for three nights, and they went "ukulele dead" on me within one set.
As far as one's I got here. I'm a fan of the Jagwires. They've been the best I've run across. Matter of fact, I'm gonna order a couple sets after the gig tonite.

Frenchy at Frenchy's Pedal Steel guitar shop in Belin, NM has developed a new string called "Silent Series". These are nickel strings andI have been using them for a long time. Great tone, sustain, and durable.Jody. |
