Johan,

That is an awesome site! Did you do the programming? That was done in PHP? The only downfall that I saw was the load times. I am on a cable modem and it was a little slow. Other wise, it looks great!

Nice Flash program! Did you use the new macromendia MX version.

Load time was a bit long and I'm on a T-1 line right now but the wait was worth it.

Johan,

indeed one of the most beautifull sites I've ever seen. Like mentioned before, the loading will take too long for anyone who has a slower than 1Mb internet connection.

I heard some music when it first opened, but couldn't get the individual songs to play.
Are they supposed to?

Hi Peter,
this is just a try-out. My recordcompany hired a webdesigner for their website and gave it a try trough my album. I don't know yet how I will relate this to my personal-website.
Thanks for the nice words!

Johan, you asked so I'm going to be completely honest with you. The website looks awesome, it's excellent designing visually. The bad part is as everyone has already said, it is too slow to load. I have a very fast DSL line and it's still a slow-loading site although I didn't mind waiting for it. Some people won't wait that long, even with high-speed connections. Anyone without DSL or Cablemodem will most likely not wait for it. If your site had a link for High-Speed connections to this site, and the slower-speed guys were directed to a regular html site, that would be fine. Also, the vast majority of people use 800X600 resolution on their computer monitors, and at that resolution the pages go off the edges of my monitor. Most designers use 1024X768 or even higher and design pages that look best on their own systems, sometimes forgetting that most people do not use that high resolution. Again Johan, I'm not saying the pages aren't great, but you asked for opinions and I'm telling you these things in an attempt to help.

Sorry, Johan. I use Netscape 4.07, and your new site won't load anything past the opening page!

Ihave a cable modem, and a very good line. My download speeds are well over 1 megabit/sec.

By the way, if anyone wants to test their line and modem download speed, here is the site that will "tell it as it is". No registration or personal info is needed. Just click this link, and follow the instructions...

Excellent! Especially liked "Stand Tall". I had no problem loading the site or the songs. Everything loaded quickly for me. I have DSL. Maybe there was a previous problem.

Super classy site and sounds!

Johan, that really is a cool site and great tracks. You prove that steel is alive and very well in Europe and that the USA does not have it sewed up. Keep it up, Gary.

Hi Johan,

I thinks it's great, except the format, which is too wide on my 800x640 screen (it didn't fit well on a 1024x768 screen either). I had no problems in opening and listening to the songs, using my 56 kB modem. Sounds terrific, well done. See you at Steeldays 2002!
