Came a long way and sweat off 5 pounds, but
would do so again in a heatbeat to hear the Man !!! Good to see and meet so many people. Lucky enough to have a short conversation with Buddy. Still on a high from the show. Buddy's tone is still a goal
to try and capture. Thanks to all who worked
so hard to put this together. But most of all, thank you Buddy for sharing with us what has been missing for soooo long, that
live playing. Your presence on stage along
with the music you make, cannot be duplicated
by any media. Stay well Buddy Emmons.[This message was edited by Joe Fortune on 11 July 2002 at 11:10 AM.] [This message was edited by Joe Fortune on 11 July 2002 at 11:12 AM.] |

I would like to thank the officers of the NTSGA for what they are doing for the club members.
Tuesday night was our first jam to attend and I can assure you it won't be the last one.
Myself, Robin, Weldon and Judi got there about 5PM, got lucky and got a table.
I cant find enough words to express how much we enjoyed the Jam. Got to see alot of old friends and make new ones.
To each one on the show, and the back up musicans, Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Jimmy. |

To follow up on Bobbe's post....
There should definitely be a higher honor bestowed on B.E. and his legacy. An autobiography (self censored) would still be a best seller. His philosophy, inspirations, humor, childhood, etc, etc. He's among the greats of history and his life and music should not be forgotten by those not yet born. Combine the audio and the life. Otherwise, at some point, there will be a biography and myth will interject At least some memoirs!
Will Buddy and Hal do a set at the convention? Please!
Thanks
Dennis |

Keep in mind that Buddy is the youngest to be inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. That is not by accident. |

Thank you Frank and Dennis! Buddy needs to be known by those "not yet born". The hall of fame is not anywhere enough recogintion for this legend of steel guitar! |

Buddy,
I can see everyone loved your playing at Bell Cove.We always do.Even on what might seem like a bad day to you.
My questions? Where you happy with the way it went? All things considered?120 degree heat. 400 steel players hanging all over you. I guess what I'm getting at.Do you now feel your wrist is a 100 percent? Sure hope so. Best of Luck! PS. I've always thought Buddy Emmons was a household word. Guess some folks live a sheltered life? |

My wrist isn't one hundred percent but it doesn't hurt as much to spread my hand. Arthritis isn't curable (except possibly with surgery) but it's treatable, so I keep the oil capsules and Glucosamine close. My main concern is building strength and coordination back in the right due to lack of use in the last year. I had my share of clinkers at Bell Cove but all things considered, I came out of it with a positive attitude. |

What clinkers?? Your clinkers will be cherished for years to come. I enjoyed pickin' with you and I hope its not another 30 years before we do it again. |

A friend of mine told me, "If you ever get a chance to see Buddy Emmons live, you need to go." I drove 10 hours from Raleigh to Tennessee. It is unbelievable how easy he makes it look. The tone and sound he creates is incredible. I know it is a little late, but when I got home, my PC crashed and I am just now getting a chance to put my four-cents in. |

I've had a chance to go back & "reflect" on this thread. I would like to state, independently,& not as "veep" of the NTSGA that, this SuperJam was great, but it wasn't the "best". We can't forget the "Green & White" jam. Nor,can we forget the Green & Helms jam. These gentlemen, all, have their respectve, honorable, places in the steel guitar industry,as mentors. As you all know, our by-laws state that you MUST be a member to play an NTSGA SuperJam. I would LOVE to have Jerry Byrd,Bud Isaacs,Speedy West,Herby Remington, etc.,as members. These guys are our "hero's" mentors. I wish that Roy Wiggins,Pete Drake,& the like, were still around,to grace us with their presence,& individual talents,in our club. Let's honor all of these "heroes" for the gifts that they have given us through the years,& not "pinpoint" one or two individuals as being the "best". I feel that everyone,in our trade, has something to donate to it. If you have a contradiction, with me,on this posting, please e-mail personally.
