I don't think she has one. She didn't when she did a rodeo here in Austin a couple of months ago.

Are you saying she had the nerve to play a rodeo in Texas without a steel player? What's this world coming to?

She went rock and hired a bunch of rock players. No steel. |

Larry, I might be mistaken but I thought I saw some discussion on a thread on this forum a week or so ago and her steel player posted on it. I will try to find it if he don't respond. I could have the gal singers mixed up but I sure think it was Sara Evans.
edit:
Well, I did a search and found nothing so I guess my memory failed me.

Yep, but she sounded pretty good and had a great Tele player, don't know who he was. She actually covered a Doobie Brothers tune at one point and the players did exhibit some 'rock'n'roll' roots. But hey... they were tight and played well together. I enjoy hearing good players, whatever the style.

Ray you know I play a lot of uptempo music with my band, not afraid to play a Doobie Bro song either. It is all steel to me and my job is to present "steel" to whoever will listen, no matter the format or style.
If I only played old country I would be sitting at home.
Heard you played with Doug Jones at Jubitz, the guitar player really liked it.
