Several weeks ago, one lady was dancing carelessly late in the evening that three times she she lost control and landed on stage but missed me every time (I was setting at the very edge of the stage).
After several requests to move away from the stage with their dancing, I finally put a heavy chair on the floor directly in front of me. If she would have hit that, she would have been bruised at the very least--they got the message and moved.
It's too bad that some of these actions has to be taken to get around early-20's-pretentiousness many times brought on by booze. |

Hmmm....Colorado huh? Might I suggest a planter with a big barrel cactus instead of that chair?
Then she'd get the "point" (LOL!). |

I hate country clubs because they usually don't have a stage and you have to set on the floor,so all you can do is worry.I think most all of us has had a girl come flying at them all you can do is be quick and catch them. One night Buba came in with a really nice knockout girl, she came over to me got as close as she could and ask me what is this thing your playing,I tryed to explain as quick as I could cause Buba was watching but she stayed there for two songs and Buba was watching. When she went back to the table they left, and I was one happy Steel Player. |

I know I responded once already to the last thread on this topic but I couldn't resist sharing another experience. This time I was on the stage set up right in the front which means I was eye level with everyone that comes by. Well I saw a woman winding her way thru the crowd and I knew she was headed my way. She staggered up to the stage and at the last step she tripped a bit but caught herself before she hit me. What she didn't catch was the 2 inch cherry hangin'off the end of her cigarrette which just missed landing on the guitar and me. It fell on the floor beside me a burnt a hole in the nasty polyester carpeting covering the stage. It produced a few toxic fumes which I got to inhale for a short while. And no I didn't inhale them on purpose!?(jokes).
That was my first cigarette near miss. what worries me is when they come flyin' by with drinks in their hands!
