Gene Finneran packaged strings in Old Bridge, New Jersey. His German silver dobro strings were my favorites for 10 or 15 years.

Originally he called them Shongum Mountain Strings, then GENE'S strings, and in the last few years, he packaged them with my name on the package cover.

He retired 3 years ago.

Who among you used, and liked his strings?

What brand(s) have you found to replace them?

Someone just mentioned to me that towards the end, Gene made up the packets with the buyer's name prominently displayed on the outside. I know he did that for me. It appears that it possibly became standard practice for all buyers.
