I guess this is open to everyone. So what's your usual bandstand set-up in detail? How many and what kind of amps, guitars, dobro, pedal or non-pedal guitars do you use?
I'm currently working bars or clubs and use 2 mid 70's Sessions 400's, Trantubefex, 71 Emmons P/P 9/6, Hilton volume pedal, Steelers Choice pac-a-seat, 62 Fender Stringmaster with an 82 Evans FET 500 amp with the old Fender Tone/Volume pedal and a Marrs Cat-Can guitar.

Just lately, I've been using this with a pair of 115e cabinets.
Oh yeah, I do bring one of my steels and a pac-a-seat. I can load in and set up my steel and this rig in less than 10 minutes. Works for me. For what I get paid, I would really resist carrying any more equipment.

Kenny,
It's a sit-down gig or it would be a lot less believe me.

I prefer stage right, and then just the steel, volume pedal, and an amp. I can wail with the best of the rockers by adding just a fuzz and a phase-shifter, but still prefer the pure, clean sounds.

ShoBud ProII, SF Fender Twin, Goodrich volume pedal, Boss pedalboard containing (currently) power supply, Compression sustainer, Overdrive, Digital Delay and Danelectro Daddy-O (planning to add TC phaser as soon as I´ll find an adapter for the power supply), and a drum stool (no pac-a-seat, thanks)

IF I was to get to play a gig, it would be my Carter, Nashville 400, Rat, Goodrich volume pedal, Matchbro, pak-a-seat etc. Maybe my Digitech S-200 effects unit.

I almost never take more than one guitar. The amplifier I use depends on the band, mostly. For country I bring the Webb, for country-rock or blues it's the Boogie, and I haul the rack and speakers for rock gigs.

For several years I used two Vegas 400s, profexII in stereo to 1st channel in each amp, goodrich pedal & Emmons PP D-10s. In Channel two of each amp I use a Digitech RP-1 in stereo & a Peavey Generation tele copy. This way I can double on 6 string just by turning up the volume on the 6 string guitar - no a-b switch or anything to mess with.

Last year the main band I play with bought a tour bus...so to downsize I racked a profexII, Peavey Linemix 8 Mixer, DPC 750...hooked up to two very small Walker 15" cabs w/Peavy 1501-4SB Speakers. This system works just like the one above, it just took up less room in the bus.

I still use the Vegas 400s setup at a house gig here in Urbana.

I have tried to get away from the stereo thing, but every time I play with one amp I wish I had brought the other one! I guess it makes me "think" I sound better, so maybe I might try and play a little better that way....

However, very soon my wife and I are going into semi-retirement....we have a new baby on the way due in August - just in time for the Steel Convention! (start em off right!) We are very excited!

ShoBud Pack Seat, 1977 vintage
Peavey Nashville 400 w/ Lemay Mod
Digitech RP-100 effects unit.

Power Conditoner
DTR-1
Boss SE-50
Goodrich 7A
Hilton Pedal
Evans Custon SE150
That about covers any medium to small venue. If out doors, I bring along my Nash 400 and use it's 200 watts for a power amp.
Some gigs, I bring an acoustic 6 or 12 string and run it D.I. to the board or A/B to my amp.

Guitar: 1983 Sierra S14 with 8p/7k

Rack: Evans model ESPA preamp; Lexicon MPX100 effects unit

Periferals: Goodrich 120 volume pedal; Shure PSM 400 personal ear monitor

I don't use a combo amp on stage anymore. My rack goes out to a snake via a D-box. The snake has a splitter to the house snake and the ear-monitor mixing board. Recently, I have also stopped using my Jordan Electronics BossTone and my MXR Envelope Filter. NO, I don't want to sell them...this might only a phase I'm goin' thru.

Keep on pickin'!
Glenn
