Kenny,
I've actually come full circle recently. When I started playing steel guitar I bought an '81 push pull Emmons from Bobbe (who evidently knows me all too well) I played it for a while then started hearing about all pull guitars, so I wanted to keep up with the "current" thing so I traded it back to Bobbe for an MCI...which was a great guitar. Sold it and bought a Fessenden. Somewhere in the middle I had purchased another push pull which I still have and will always have. I played a Derby on the Dixie Chicks tour. Well I took the Fessy and the Derby to Bobbe and he sold them both for me and I just recieved shipment on a new LeGrande II. I love it and will probably graduate to a III in a few months. So I started with an Emmons and it looks like I'm going to end up with an Emmons. All the other guitars I've owned I wanted them to sound like an Emmons...I guess it's just the tone I have in my head. I think Zumsteels are great guitars and entertained that idea for quite some time, but I don't think they have the tone that I hear in my head. I'm not saying they have bad tone by any means it's just that the Emmons comes a lot closer to the tone I like. I guess this concludes my sermon! Kenny it's always good to hear from you. Bobbe you're one of my favorite people! I'll see Brandy....I MEAN YOU soon.
