Just watched a repeat on CMT of the Dixie Chicks and what a great sound Loyd Manies was gettin out of that Mullen. It was nice to see the great camera work too.

I really enjoyed the second half which was a guy named Robison. Can't remember his first name -- could have been Chris. I've never heard of him, but he was good.

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the info. Yes, Charlie did that number. It was the last one he did. It was guite funny (probably one of the funniest songs I've heard) and you could tell that the audience really enjoyed it. He had a bunch of good musicians backing him and I believe that Lloyd Maines was playing Dobro (he also had another guy playing PSG).

I missed this but I'm always missing these things. I for one will notify "you'al" about these shows in advance when I learn of them if all of you would do the same. We need this type of notification.

I haven't seen an ACL show in a while but, regarding the steel player: If the steel picker with Charlie Robison had dark, curly hair, pickin' a Williams D10, it was most likely our own, Bobby Snell. (Hey Bobby, thanks for subbing for me last weekend!) If the steel picker had blondish hair, wore glasses and a Hawaiian shirt, pickin' a Carter D10, it was most likely Kim Deschamps (sp). Both have played with Charlie in recent years. Both are great pickers.

Keep on pickin'!
Glenn
