I am in the process of selling a guitar to someone in Denmark. His Paypal is linked to credit card and I don't want to upgrade. He can do a MO for around $20 but this takes some time. He suggested a bank to bank transfer. I'm ok with this if it's possible but don't want to email the account info. I'd rather send it to someone at his bank. I think we have some forumites from Denmark. What are the choices?
Thanks, Ron

Ron, I sold a Guitar to a person in The Netherlands last year and in trying to accomodate him both on the Payment method and shipping of this guitar, it ended up costing him extra money and me extra aggrivation. By the way, International Bank Transfers can take up to a week or 10 days to complete too. It ended well....but the next time I sell anything overseas, it will be on my terms strictly. That would be with payment using an International Postal Money Order to include the item sold, insurance and shipping, and I would ship via USPS Global Air in most cases.

Ron, if your wary about a bank to bank transfer
(which btw works well)
you can do just as Roger K suggests & go w: an Intl Money Order
takes just a wee bit longer than a bank transfer
Paypal is quicker

I'm glad I checked with my bank. There is a $15 wire fee for incoming. The seller decided on an international MO which is better.

Good idea. We did a wire transfer to a bank in Japan from the US to my son, and it was hung up for 2 weeks because a little box on their form (which wasn't present on the US side of the transaction) wasn't checked correctly.

I do a bank to bank transfer every month, as standing orders.
It has worked pretty good for 10 years except around the y2k change...
but that was only one bank.
And they were pretty lame anyway.

The info you send is recieving or send coordinate info only,
they can't just make withdrawls with SWIFT numbers etc.

You can safely send by email, because it is only a location,
not a comand do do something from that location.

It must be actively sent by your banker.

I get USA to France wires cleared in 2-3 days, legally it must clear in 5-7 buiiness days, but that is boiler plate,

it usulally is less, and leaves a nice paper trail if you request it.
