Jay Barber just emailed me about a virus, anyone else heard about a new dormant virus that sits for 14 days then crashes your hard drive?

Ted, a friend of mine in Atlanta sent me a notice about it.
It places a file "sulfnbk.exe" on your hard drive.
The suggested check for it is to use the "find" or "Search" function of your computer.
It may show an ugly blackish icon that will have the name "sulfnbk.exe" on it.
If you find it: delete it immediately.
Don not open or run it.
I checked my computer and did not have it.

SORRY Blake!!

DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE!!!

It is part of the Microsoft operting system, and is present on all Windows 98 systems!

ALWAYS check with an antivirus program or antivirus website before deleting ANY file!

"sulfnbk.exe" is merely a program that lets you use long filenames.

Donny is correct, and this is good procedure to always follow. I received the same warning from a friend…and within 3 hours received a second email saying “Ooopps!” He had checked and found out the warning is a “hoax”. For some reason there seem to be as many people who are inclined to send out virus hoax warnings…as there are people who actually create viruses! Strange world we live in nowadays.
