This is great stuff!! Knocked my tube socks right off. Your approach is quite unique.
Do you have tab for this tune/CD ("At The Feet Of God"?
Could you share your copedent with us?
What guitar did you use?
What kind of breakfast cereal do you eat? :>)

Great and Beautiful ,,,Bobbe is great and Brandy is beautiful,,,how do you beat a combination like this?.
Wonderful playing Bobbe,,you do play with a lot of heart.
Save some of that heart for Brandy,,but Im sure there is enough of that to handle both
Brandy as well as your guitar.
You play better than you spell. Hope your new
location brings you good luck and most of all
the best of health.
What do I have to do to get Bob Maickle to invite you to play at the next years PSGA??
I think if I can get him to do that,,you will
have to bring Brandy along. If thats the case
I'll be there as well.
Have you noticed my post's are getting shorter??? thats by popular demand from my fans on the Forum. I hope thats all that gets shorter,,need that calcium or I will have to adjust my legs to the standing position. 
Gotta keep them happy,,, who cares the money is good anyway. even if they say Im long winded,,,who cares,,,,,so there. |

What still grabs me about the Amazing Grace album was that it is the last documented thing that Gary Hogue did. He not only produced the album but did a cameo on the intro and turn of "I Saw The Light."
I just missed meeting Gary at one of the last Marty Stuart shows here in Macon. He wasn't feeling well and stayed at the motel.
I left a note on his guitar asking him to check with Bobbe on some speakers I had sent him. Don't know if he ever got to do that. Bobbe said he stuck his head in the door on the way to the doctor and said he'd be back.....

I dont know,but as he was leaving for the doctor,,Brandy asked him how he was getting to the doctors office and he said.
De Plane" De Plane" De Plane" She told me he
was wearing a "white suit" and was leaving for an "Island",,,,,strange.....

I have always thought that Bobbe has been somewhat underrated as a player. My guess is that his other involvement in the steel guitar community, primarily sales and service, has overshadowed his playing. He is a very versatile player and he is innovative. When it comes right down to it, versatility and innovation are among the greatest attributes any steel player could have.

OK, guys, you asked fot it, here it is:
E 9th neck, 3 pedals, Emmons setup,
Knees:
LKL,Raise #1&7, 1 step, raise#2 half step.
LKR,lower #2 half(only),lower #9, half step
Lk up, Raise #9 one half step.
RKL,lower E's one half step
RKR, raise E's one half step
Now,I have two more knee levers on my left leg that I use constantly,They are mounted inboard of my main left leg levers.
These are:
LKL,lower G#'s to G.
LKR,lower G#(sixth stg. only)to F#
This makes seven knees on my Push Pull Emmons. This is the same setup on my "Seymour" steel.(Crawford Cluster).
My C6th is very interesting and different,but based on the "standard" setup.
The Gospel album we are discussing is availible with a tab book that was done by Doug Jernigan.
Yes, this was the last project that Gary Hogue produced before he died,and the only one that I didn't produce myself. This album is very special to me for many reasons. I'm glad to see so many people can feel how special this project was.Kurt Ryle (of the "RAY Price" band)played rhythm and nylon string guitar,Bob Saxton played great Gibson super 400 electric guitar. Gary hogue played bass,drums,and a cameo on steel.I played dobro also.
I must thank you guys for the wonderful response to this project.
I won't let you down on the next one either. I think it will be "Price Less".

Jody, You are wonderful and funny, You make the forum great as do many others. I am so very greatful to you and all my other wonderful forum friends, That I praise AND argue with. I do have a lot of respect for others opinions, ideas, and I have learned a lot here.I usually go off and research ideas that I get from others,as there is a little unintentional misinformation at times. How ever , The great thing here is the quality of "thought provoking" that goes on and makes us all back up and think. I love being proven wrong on issues as this makes me a smarter guy. If I were right all the time there would be no sense in debating on certain issues. I love what this forum is doing to bring us all closer and make us all smarter, with a lot of laughs along the way!

Yeah, "Soulfull Steel" and the Amazing Grace MP3 are definitely cool. Good technique aside, Bobbe's playing sounds like he's playing off the top of his head and straight from the heart.

Very nice job on amasing grace. It was done on PBS a couple of weeks ago for 2 hrs and told the history of the song and a lot of diferent interpations of the song. That song has been done every way posible but the best is the slow sweet version like the steel. Makes the hair stamd out.on my neck. Ron
