I recently had Optima Online installed by Cablevision in my office, the installer said he would use his own disc because it would be faster for him to install. He forgot to tell us he would be installing the Nimbda A virus with it.

Hummmmmmmmmmm,

This is a strange medium that we are in, I only wish I understood more about it. I can think of some funny ways you could get even with this installer though,

You gotta watch out for those diseases on the internet now, gentleman... Be sure you scan your 3.5" floppy before inserting it into the drive slot. And for Goodness Sakes, consult the user manual before clicking too much on the mouse. It'll make you go blind, grow hair on your palms, and make your face stick like that.

If you would have had your antivirus program running (you DO have an anti-virus program - right?) it would have scanned any floppy disk upon insertion and would have caught the virus.

This is a problem in the service industry. The tech uses his "diagnostic" diskette to check out the system and the system dumps the virus on his floppy. Then the tech, unless he does virus scanning, unknowingly starts infecting other systems and the domino effect is on.

I've even had systems returned from major name computer makers service centers with a virus.

(b0b this should be in the computer section).

Yes sir Micheal, it't a lot better to click your mouse a few times than to take a chance on getting a----------never mind,
