Hey everyone long time no see. Sorry about the long wait to get on here. My computer was out for a month, and I'm just now getting back to the groove.
Anyway, what I came here to say is this:
I had the pleasure of playing with a astronaumical guitar player last weekend. Greg Galbraith (spelling?). He's a very well known guitar player. My dad and I invited some musicians up to our home for a jam.
Bob Ricker - steel guitar
Bob Nible - Bass
Greg Galbraith - Guitar
Me - piano, sax
My dad - Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
His style is so unheard these days. I've never heard this before. He has mastered the guitar. He makes these 1 to 4 chords that are 7th and some notes go up, and some go down. It's hard to describe, but If you haven't heard this master play, you're missing out on his awesome style.
Bob Nible, the guy that played bass, is my cousin. He plays outstanding upright bass. He can play!!
Bob Ricker, the steel player, was a good musician. He has a studio, and doesn't get to play steel too much, so this was a good oppurtunity for him to play. He played very well, but I think he didn't think he was too hot, because he always backed off the volume. But, trust me, boy if he played all the time, he'd be unstoppable. He had some great licks! I wish he would of played a hair louder, so I could enjoy them. We were on oppisite sides of the stage.
My dad, W. B. Stokley, sang the good ole country songs and played rhythm.
I played piano, saxophone, and a little bit of steel. It was very fun, even though I was very intimidated by such musicians.
Well, that's all I wanted to say!
Thanks,
Abraham |

Gregg has been one of my favorite players ever since I first heard him play with the Po Boys Band (when Sonny Garrish was in the band). I just remixed some tracks he played on the other day, these were from about 10 years ago, and it just doesn't get any tastier than that. His tone has always been a killer too. I'm a die hard fan.

Gregg is abolutly the worst guitar holder I've ever been around to much in my whole life! I've had to put up with his Big chords and extremely fast blur of notes and horrible rotten personality for the last 32 years! Every time I get into a musical bind, here he is , getting me out again, I hate it!This "no good" has NO sense of humor, horrible to be near, Steels ALL my glory every time we work together,Why, If he plays a solo before I do, It is totally all played up by the time I get there! Yep, he leaves me nothing to play! Mean to me! AND, he is extreamly critical of my spelling! He can't even read my charts in the studio! I met him, along with Earl Erb, right after I moved to Nashville,I had to face him in my first Gnashville jam session,I got Gnashed!
The only great thing about him is his nice wife,Brother-in-law,Father-in-law,mothe-----
Well, you get the idea!
I'm going to get him a "Roy Clark" big note song book , just like he got me the Big word spelling book! OK Gregg, I get the intro on the first song on the next session!!!

I've been a big "Gregg" fan for many, many years. I think it would be really hard not to be a fan, he's amazing to me. AND he's a great guy, too!

I recently heard a tape Gregg produced and played on that epitomised everything I loiike about country music. I didn't know it was him at first, but I did know it contained some absolutely terrific guitar playing. |

I had to learn Travis Tritt's song "Country
club", the guitar playing in it caught my
attention, I looked on the credit's and it
was Gregg Galbraith, he really fit some
cool idea's behind the vocals in the chorus.
Reminded me of Sonny Garrish but on a six
string guitar, knows when to come in with
neat little melody lines, Greg |

Greg is nothing short of a monster...Had a great time jamming with him and Johnny Cox and Robbie Turner a couple of years ago at convention. Only thing I don't like about Greg is he wouldn't give me an interview this year at convention. Kept saying he would and then always walked a mile out of his way to stay away from me. *G*....Same goes for Theresa too!! You both still owe me an interview...*LOL*...
