Saw Big JIm Murphy with Asleep at the Wheel last night. Murph sure has the chops and fits in well with a band that has the chops. Also had a nice visit with Big Jim. What a great guy.

I can echo those words. They came by here a couple of weeks ago and did a mind-blowing show. Big Jim plays great.

Jim "Big Murph" Murphy is a giant on steel and great on Sax. ANYTIME he gets behind his steel it is something to behold!

Having played for Hank Thompson and the Brazos Valley Boys, "Big Murph" is no stranger to swing, country, and blues that AATW are famous for. Heck, his younger brother Wally Murphy knocked 'em dead with the Wheel!

Murph took over the studio work with Carl Smith in the early 70's that Chalker had been doing and was nothing short of super and today still blows me away being a Chalker fan to the hilt, Gary
