When I saw the topic I thought
Rick meant it !!
I'm not sure ! But !
in that song , about half way through ,
the words in Hawaiian ! pretty well nail it
down -- Rick knows I'm kinda deaf so I
may be wrong .

Phew! Rick! I read "I'm Pau" and feared you were pulling one of those "Boo hoo I'm quitting the forum!" exhibitions.
My heartrate is slowly returning to normal.
Mahalo for this clip. I'm wondering what makes the Clarke reissues so tasty-sounding. In addition to the clarity, is it the touch of added reverb? |

Jeff, clarity and perhaps verb too, we should ask him (Bruce C.), he may share. I suspect he's got some big dollar restoration software like Cedar or Waves, has just learned how to use it really well, and takes his time.
However it's done, I love the work he does to provide these catalogs of music for us. I'd never have heard it otherwise.

This reminds me of a Japanese-American from Oahu who was one of my girlfriends when I lived in Lost Angeles. Because of her background, she was sometimes not sure if a phrase she used was Japanese, Hawaiian or English. One of her more useful phrases was "all pau," which seemed more succinct than "all finished." Unfortunately, one day she was all pau with me.  |

| This is one of my favorite songs for Hawaiian steel and a great example on how to swing. In fact, I have always thought this song was in the top ten of classic Hawaiian swing non pedal steel songs. |
